The GOOD News:

An e-mail from K.G.:-

I just happened across your site and of course opened it as I deeply admire and love St. Joseph.  I wanted to share my story with you of the sale of my home some months ago.

I was not at sure my husband and I were doing the right thing but had really been praying over the whole selling and buying thing.  I had heard the legend that if you bury a St. Joseph statue in your yard he could help with such matters.  I proceeded to the local Christian store for my purchase.  When I told the clerk what I was seeking and why, she looked at me puzzled and said she had never heard such a thing.  She did however help me to locate a statue for my purpose.

Once getting my St. Joseph home, I asked him for his help, I told him I wasn't sure if we were doing the right thing but I would trust his judgment in this matter.  It was a Sunday and our house had been on the market since that Tuesday.  I reluctantly handed my husband the statue and told him to go ahead and bury it, but please be gentle with him, it also bothered me to bury him face down, it seemed disrespectful so I asked him to bury him standing up facing our house.

It was pouring rain that day so it was an easy burial he just pushed him down into the earth.  Later that day we received a phone call from a realtor that she would like to show our house that afternoon.  I couldn't imagine anyone coming out in that weather, but they did.  As it turned out they loved our house and made an offer the following day.  I knew that St. Joseph had worked his magic and answered my question about weather or not we should sell.  I immediately went out to the yard and pulled him up washed him off and enjoy his presence in my new home today.

The power of prayer and intersession from our Saints is great.  I thank you for allowing me to share my story with you, and I also want to thank you for your site.

AND :

From Giancarlo: I would like to submit this testimony which you may or may not want to include in your web page.

My parents have sold our house and it is because of Saint Joseph's intercession. Not having a statue of him, I burried in our yard a picture which I printed off the internet. Then I forgot (being such a lazy servant) to pray to Saint Joseph. Then on Easter Sunday I remembered how ungrateful I am, so I said I simple prayer to St Joseph in conjunction with one decade of my rosary. That very same day a family came to look at our house, and one week later they bought. As far as I am concerned Saint Joseph worked a miracle and sold our house in one day.I wish everybody to know, so that devotion and confidence might increase to St Joseph. I think that my story also dispels the objections of superstition which the faithless may have because I burried a picture instead of a statue and Saint Joseph still heard my prayer.

God bless you.

Plus about ten others who have given St. Joseph the credit for selling their houses. (I know 3 of them personally)

St. Joseph Home Sale Practice.

For untold thousands, this has been a very effective practice for many, many years but, as with many word-of-mouth customs, the central theme can get very clouded, from gradually becoming so surrounded by numerous how, when and where details that, even well-meaning people begin to erroneously render the practice as nothing but superstition, hocus-pocus, magic, etc. In this case, I have heard such detailed burying specifications as:

The truth of the matter is, such specifications mean little, if anything. What does mean everything is that the seller … asks St. Joseph for his help …. Believes that he will intercede …. And thanks him …. All very simply set forth in The Way of St. Joseph.

For me personally, St. Joseph has been truly remarkable …. He has never failed me …. In real estate or any other endeavour!

For this practice to be fully effective, however …. Sellers must, of course, first do such practical, yet all important chores, as completing all necessary fix-up, properly staging the home and finally, adjusting the price so as to exactly reflect market value … then …

.… Just watch St. Joseph make it happen…!

And …

… A Brief Word About Saints …

Although Christians often pray direct to God, as in Our Father, so also. as seen in the age-old Apostles' Creed, they believe in … the Communion of Saints … and thus implore the aid of apostles, martyrs and others, who have closely imitated the way of Christ.

When we look at the lives of those who, while sharing in our humanity, have faithfully followed Jesus, we are inspired with a new path, by which we too may be spurred on to a more perfect union with Christ.

Just as Christian brotherhood brings us closer to Jesus, so also our friendship with the saints, draws us to share in their everlasting life with Christ.

It is extremely fitting, therefore, that we love those coheirs of Jesus Christ, who are also our brothers and sisters … that we render due thanks to God for these, our family and … invoke them and … have recourse to their prayers, their power and help in obtaining benefits from God through His Son, Jesus Christ, Who is our Redeemer and Savior.

Thus, for greater intensity of our love and own good, and that of all Christians, we seek from St. Joseph and from all those saints whom we implore:

example in their way of life …

… fellowship in their communion …

… aid by their intercession …

THE WAY OF SAINT JOSEPH.

Mission …

#############

Over the years, thousands have successfully followed the age-old practice of burying a statue of St. Joseph … w/the hope of selling or buying real estate …

The Way

  1. Ask … St. Joseph to help you sell your home and then …

  2. Believe … and trust in St. Joseph to intercede in the granting of your request, and then …

  3. Bury … or place St. Joseph's statue on the property, as an outward sign of your belief and trust in his power, and then …

  4. Thank ..St. Joseph for having responded to your call … before, during and after the granting of your favour, and then …

  5. Remove … his statue and finally …

  6. Share … with others, your experiences … how St. Joseph helped you personally.

A Petition to St. Joseph.

Dear St. Joseph, head of the most perfect household, foster father of Jesus and guardian of His Mother Mary, I confidently place myself and all my concerns under your care and protection. I ask that, through your powerful intercession with God, you obtain for me all the help and graces that I need for my spiritual and temporal welfare and in particular, the special favour I now ask (here mention or think of your home sale or any other petition, especially family needs *).

Good St. Joseph, I know with confidence, that your prayers on my behalf will be heard by God and that He will grant my request, if it be for His glory and my greater good.

Thank you St. Joseph, for having responded to my call.

Amen

* St. Joseph knows families … He is a friend of spouses, mothers, fathers and children … He brings family peace and love … Go to him !

St. Teresa of Avila wrote in her autobiography:

"I have taken as my advocate and patron the glorious St. Joseph and I cannot recall an instance wherein I have prayed to him without having my prayers answered. I marvel at the tremendous favours which God has bestowed upon me through the intercession of this Saint, and how he has delivered me from many spiritual and material dangers. I consequently wish I could persuade many others to be devoted to him also. For those who do not believe this, I only ask that, in the name of God's love, they give it a trial, and their own experience will then show them how rewarding it is to place their trust in this Glorious Patriarch, and to have him as their intercessor."

St. Bernardine of Siena says that we should be persuaded that Our Lord, Who respected St. Joseph on earth as His father, will refuse him nothing in heaven; but on the contrary, will most abundantly grant his petitions.

Jesus Himself advised St. Margaret of Cortona to cherish a special devotion to St. Joseph, and never to allow a day to pass without rendering some homage to him as His foster father.

Procedure for burying a St. Joseph statue when selling a home:
Make a hole in the ground that is large enough to bury the St. Joseph statue (in protective wrap) vertically. Place the statue upside down in the ground.
Face the upside down statue TOWARDS the home that is to be sold.
For nine consecutive days, pray the St. Joseph Novena included here.
Once the home is sold, remove the statue from the ground.
Display the statue in a place of honor in the new home.

Opening Prayer In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Come to my aid, O God. O Lord, make haste to help me.
Almighty God, Father of mercies and giver of all good gifts, I come before you to honor you in your saints and
ask their help in my many needs. You promised those who ask, would receive, those who seek, would find, those who knock,
would have doors opened to them. Hear the prayers of your church, grant my requests, and pardon my sins. Amen.

St. Joseph, just and true, with a father's care you raised the child Jesus, and with a husband's love,
you shared your life with Mary, his mother. I entrust myself to your care and place in your hands this request of mine (say request)….
In quiet Nazareth, long ago, the Holy Spirit spoke to your heart and you followed God's will with wonderful faith.
In the quiet of my days, and in the hard choices I must make, help me follow the Spirit's guidance and believe when I cannot see.

Day 1 Oh God, guide of those who listen and helper of those who hear your voice, speak to me, as you did to St. Joseph,
and help me accomplish the things you give me to do.

Day 2 O God, you love your people and bless the ordinary lives we quietly live. As you blessed St. Joseph, bless what I do,
however hidden and simple it may be, and let all I do be done with love.

Day 3 O God, ever faithful, you remember us always and in time reveal your blessings. Help me trust in you, as St. Joseph faithfully trusted,
and never let me lose faith in the wonderful gifts you promise me.

Day 4 God of families, bless the family that's mine. Keep us safe from harm, and never let evil come between us.
Let peace remain in our hearts.

Day 5 O God, who loves children, be kind to our children today. Give them eyes of faith for seeing far, a loving heart for welcoming life,
and a place always at your side.

Day 6 God of our heavenly home, bless our home on earth. Let the spirit of Mary and Joseph rest at our table, shape our words and actions,
and bring blessing to our children.

Day 7 God, our Father, give your fatherly spirit to those who are fathers now. Like Joseph, give them hearts of devoted
love for their wives and children and strength for forgiveness and patience.

Day 8 Give shelter, O God, to those who need it, and bring together families divided. Give us enough to eat, and decent work to
earn our bread. Care for us, O God.

Day 9 Bless all families, O Lord especially those in need. Remembering the life of your Son, we pray for the poor,
for those who lack a good home, for those in exile. Grant them a protector like Joseph, O God.

To conclude this novena, say one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and one Glory Be

I hope I have been of some use to those of you wishing to sell your houses..
